msi mobo k7ntdelta series
amd 2800xp

above m/b is supposed to take ddram
have tried 2700 in suggested slots error lights on m/b shows memory problems
works fine with sdram
cant contact msi support
any help grateully accepted

You can not use DDR in a mobo
that is SDR as they will not fit one is 168pin the other 184pin so who ever told you that is speaking rubbish.

Are you getting confused with the dual controller for the memory.ie running 2 sticks of 256 rather than 1 x 512 to get better performance.
If so are the ram you have identical sticks.

Some motherboard have both types of slots, but you can only use one type at a time.


If you have more than one stck ram just try with one not all. You should put the first stick in ether slot 0 or 1 depends how the slots are marked

Many thanks for the info woodchip i didn't know there were mobos that could use both.
