microsoft word

hi this is emi bullen here why does microsoft dont have microsoft word on windows xp pro or home,and if i try to download it off a website i get microsoft word viwer,can you help i have a book i bought call how to do just about anything on a computer and they all show microsoft word and i have word pad witch is not the same can you help please? emibullen

Because you need to BUY it.

Word is not and has never been part of Windows.

You have to buy it. It is part of Microsoft Office.

But you can download free alternatives :-

Office suites :- Openoffice click here 602pro click here These are full office suites that have spreadsheets and other stuff as well as the word processor.

Word alternatives :- Jarte click here, Cryptedit click here Not up to full Word standard, but a handy upgrade on Wordpad.
