Microsoft Outlook 2007 stopped working

I have had Outlook 2007 installed for a while now and had no problem with it. Yesterday it stopped working and I cannot get it restarted. I get a message saying the file C:\Users\SteveBurns\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.pst cannot be opened.

I have been into the mail app file and tried repair and that came up saying it was working, but nothing is working.

I had this as part of Microsoft office package 2007.

Can someone help? I get all my mail sent through to this address.

The pst file is probably corrupted. Use scanpst see MS Support.

These threads often get spammers promoting pst repair tools. Ignore them.

Was it the inbuilt Scanpst.exe repair routine you did? as per click here

The Scanpst refers to Outlook 2010. I have Outlook 2007. I will try going back in time for a couple of days to see how that goes. I have tried the repair tool and that did not work. Thanks for the answers so quickly. Any more, I would be grateful

I set up a system restore before the last update two days ago and hey presto! Back to normal. I should have tried this before posting, but panicked a bit and forgot about the restore. Thanks for your help on this anyway.
