Hi guys, Got work colleague in a bit of a tiz.

she took SD card out of old phone, put into new phone and its not recognised, she put it back in old phone its not recognised, she put it into card reader on her netbook, not recognised.
I have put it on my PC and it does not appear.

Is it possible for a card to fail in such a way.

i have tried several recovery progs but to no avail.
The card worked perfectly well before transfer to new phone and is not password protected in any way...

Stick fingers on contacts when removing from first phone.

Try some electrical contact cleaner on the cards contact faces.

The disc in question is a Sandisk SD 512Mb.
It seems for whatever reason this card has decided to fail completely, if anyone has one of these cards in their phone you might want to backup any data that you consider irreplaceable...

Is any other card working in the new phone? Is it possible that this new phone is creating a problem?

Not tried another card in phone as yet, but a valid point, thanks Woolwell, i will put this to her...
