My firewall keeps popping up, telling me that this is trying to access my computer: c/windows/systems32/svchost.exe.
It says it is low risk and i should permit. What do you guys think?

Ok Crossbow, reading the links it seems it is ok then. I think.....

It's part of windows, but I don't allow it anyway, and it doesn't seem to make any difference if it can't connect.

Personally I block all outgoing traffic unless I know I want it to access the internet. The worst that can happen is that somthing won't connect to the internet, then you just enable the file again. If you don't know what somthing does block it and see if anything stops working.

Ok thanks for that. I have been blocking it, but the wife has ok-d it by mistake, so i was a little worried.

if it was incoming as you posted it is very likely to be a virus, run task manager and if you have it in your processes in capitals then you are infected and at the very least may experience severe slowing down of machine functions.

Ok Jonny have looked and this what is running:
svhost.exe: local service mem use 1,636
" " "" network service mem 1,144
system 8,656
system 1,548
system 1,960

Computer is using 5-8% of cpu.....
All the above is in lower case
