I am going to install a half meg of ram for my Sony VGN-T1XP, hopefully it will stop it behaving like a tortoise (really is slow. Question is on the Sony website they have the following spec Storage capacity: 512 MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM Micro-DIMM DDR333 price is £199. At Crucial they are offering 512k 172-pin MICRO-DIMM DDR PC2700 for £83.00. PC2700 are the same but what is the DDR 333 that Sony mentions?

It's just another label for the same thing. The DDR333 part refers to the speed of the Front Side Bus that the memory is designed to work with. Other examples are DDR266 = PC2100, DDR333 = PC2700, DDR400 = PC3200.

Thanks Eric10 I can now go and save £110+
