Memory Question

  Reb 15:30 04 Jun 2007

I have MSIKT4Vmotherboard & it only supports one DDR400DIMM - I need to increase the memory using one 1gb ddr400 but I will then have a 512mb ddr400 that cant be used, if I put it in a spare slot will it work but at a slower speed or will it mess things up?
Thanks for any help

According to the specifications for your motherboard, it has three memory slots that each support 1GB of ram.
So if you just buy another 512mb stick and put it in the one of the other two slots slot and you will have 1GB of memory.
As your motherboard does not support dual channel, you should be able to run with 1GB in the first slot and 512mb in one of the other slots and they will both run at DDR400.
