Installed 1gb of extra memory in Asus X51 laptop with Vista. but when I do a scan with Crucial it still shows 1 empty slot. There is 1gb already installed
Crucial advised me what to put in

Take both sticks of ram out and then try them one by one to make sure each ram stick is good and not a dud.

if both are 'good' then it might be the 2nd slot or maybe you haven't pushed it home properly and it's not making proper contact.

Try right clicking my computer. Then properties.

Replaced old ram with new and it is working. Will put old into second slot and see what happens.

Both memory are okay. Changed slots but still not being reconized

What happens if you just have one stick in the 2nd slot? (nothing in the first slot)
