If you have onboard Graphics the Graphics is using it. Check BIOS for how much it's set to. This can be changed

onboard graphics is using 32 mb, im losing 160 megs some where

It may be fault with the MOBO

More likey a fault with the RAM though.

How much shows up in the POST tests?

Try changing the BIOS setting for "Quick test" (or similar) to Disabled - this runs a longer RAM test at power up - and gives you a better chance to see the amount of RAM the BIOS is detecting.
