Hi, I can thoroughly recommend installing a front panel card reader preferably with USB connections. You dont need to couple your camera up to the computer which conserves your camera battery power. The card reader also doubles up as additional drives which means you can transfer files easily. Cheers, Bill

You will find a card reader wins hands down. Card out of camera into reader photos off card as easy as that. No fiddling with cables etc. I leave my reader permenantly connected and it is very usefull for transfering files to another machine.

billyliv's advice is right. Once you have used a card reader you will appreciate the speed with which it downloads to the PC and the fewer number of battery recharges !!!

Just one point dont format your card in Windows always use the camera to do this.
Many instances of people doing this in Windows and then the camera not recognising it afterwards.

You'll be able to buy a reader/writer on ebay for around £7.

click here for Crucial's own Flash reader and get some more memory also.

I use a six card reader (Crucial) and wouldn't be without it.

I too use the card reader in my photosmart 7260 printer in preference to connecting the camera. However, I find that connecting the printer via USB 1 slows everything down. Is this usual. I have 98SE with a Celeron 433.
