Media Player Visualisation

I have written my own Media player visualisation (using the SDK) but have a few problems maybe somebody could help me with.

When I open the properties dialog for my visualisation a new instance of my visualisation class is created and any variables I modify in this are not passed back to the 'main' class instance. How do I get around this ?

I'd like to put some sliders in my property box but when I do I get errors saying that the class type cannot be found (but I've used the system to insert the new objects). How do I do this ?

I've tried adding my own Active X control to the properties page but when I do this selecting the properties option has now effect. The same thing happens if I use a 'standard' Microsoft control. How do I get around this ?

If anybody out there has a simple visualisation they can send me that has a properties page with sliders and checkboxes etc. that allows data to be passed between the main visualisation instance and the properties instance I'd be very grateful.

TIA.
