media player gone

when I went into the shortcut for windows media player today an error window came up saying it could not find application and started searching for it. It finally said app has been moved or removed and could fix it. I pressed fix it. When I pressed media player button there was no response at all. I've tried putting in system disc and putting in media player again. No good. Truied system restore. no good. Message did come up at one stage saying it was something to do with syntax? Anyone got any ideas. Fraid I'm going to loose my music.

You shouldn't loose your music if it's saved to disk.

Try opening Windows Explorer and do a search for wmplayer.exe to see if it still exsists, if it does you should be able to make a shortcut to it.
