Whenever I try to play a DVD I get the following error message - AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: ModName:
ModVer: Offset: 0001121d.

Any help to sort this would be appreciated.

Have you enabled DVD from Tools>Options>File Types (in fact all types)?

Also do you have a software or hardware DVD decoder, for instance PowerDVD?

Yes, i've enabled DVD under the options and yes I have PowerDVD. The discs work with this (apart from Van Helsing which tries to install it's own software) but not with Media Player, or DivX Player for that matter.

I have that problem with Van Helsing..

Just close the window it opens (and cancel the installation if nessecary). Then just open up PowerDVD and select "Play".

I wouldn't worry about WMP not playing your DVDs correctly, as almost everyone I know has problems. Just stick to PowerDVD as I do.

Fair play. Come across any better players than PowerDVD?

I intend to stick with PowerDVD as it came with my one DVD-RW the other (as I used to have two systems) can with a Roxio product, which was, in my opninion, rubbish.

There is "Nero ShowTime" which is part of Nero 6, but even that doesn't come close to PowerDVD.

Another good one with a "full trial".
