mcafee to kaspersky

im just about to delete mcafee and install kaspersky from a cd. am i likely to encounter any problems and is there any best procedure

Disconnect from the internet. Delete one install the other.

And I would also use the McaFee removal tool which will remove all leftover files and registry entries which might cause any conflict.

I, like you went from McAfee to Kaspersky and used this tool too. Just to be on the safe side and avoid any trouble.

I recently installed Kaspersky after BitDefender and Kaspersky refused to install because of the presence of McAfee Site Advisor. I uninstalled Site Advisor but still Kaspersky would not load. The only way I solved it was by running the McAfee removal tool. I would strongly recommend that you run this before installing any other anti-virus program.

After you have removed all traces of McAfee then i would reccoment using ccleaner to clear up the registery & temp files click here
