HI, I have just checked my downstream speed on the adsl router and it said 2272 kbps.. what is that in MB's, or is this not the way to tell.


ps: I am with BT BB.....

Thanks, checked your link and it came out at over 2mb, so i was wondering if BT had increased the speed like they said they would...

one bytes = 8 bits, add some communication overhead, one byte need to transfer by 10 bits approximation

so what you got is 2mbps (2 mega bits per second) communication speed and it can send 2mega bytes (2MB) files roughly in 10 seconds

My Bt increase in speed happened on Friday evening. Now says 2.2 Mbps
