I have an older system and would like to change the hard disk (6 years old and counting).Does anyone know whether there is a maximum size HD that the motherboard-an Asus P4B will support?Using Windows XP SP2 with 1.5Gb SDRAM Grateful for any information ....at all
Just like any other mobo, no limit on hard-drive size.
160Gb with the newest bios.
Technotiger and quiller -thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Did try to find out but nothing easily available on the Asus website in particular.
Motherboard BIOS is the limiter
Hmm, unless quiller knows something I don't - and that is quite possible LoL .... but studying that mobo, there is no mention of any maximum hard drive size at all.
woodchip -thanks for that. Will check. 160 is more than adequate though.Kind regardsV
From the Asus website but with no direct link. click here
Thanks - did you put that question in yourself, 'cos it only says Yes it supports 160Gb, but does not say, that is the maximum size it will support.
Academical anyway, 'cos logoff is happy with the answer - which is what it is all about.I am always eager and willing to learn too!
