making a 32 page A5 booklet

Is there a program which will allow you to design and make an A5 booklet with illustrations which will sort out the page numbering and printing automatically ? I canb't find how to do it in Word.

Tanks for the speedy response. I should have said is there a free program! Or is there a way to use Word which I do not know.

Are you going to have it professionally printed?

I produced a Referees handbook in A5 with over 200 pages last year. I simply set it up in word and my printer paginated it for me. They have the software to do it very quickly. If you are intending to print it yourself you will need a good publishing package.

Version 5.0 is free from click here but is a bit limited. You should be able to upgrade to PP8PDF for very little money. PP9 is the latest version.

WordPerfect can also do this very easily, but Page Plus will give you greater flexibility.

I intend to print it myself, just a short run. I have Serif Page Plus 5 but I could not see how to work the booklet. I have noted that Adobe Pagemaker 7 is offered on a 30 day download trial from their website, so unless anyone has a better answer, I think I will go for that. This is the first time I have used this forum , I can't believe how fast it is!

Try the Serif Forum click here for more help on PagePlus

I don't have PP5 installed. Take a look at the Page Setup menu. You should have a choice of publication types: Regular, Large, Small, and Folded. In the folded publications there are options for booklets. Not positive about PP5 though.

Pageplus 8.0 PDF version will do the job. its available from Serif with a free resource CD for
(I think) £9.95.

Jusr remembered how I came by Pageplus 8.0 for £9.95. It was offered to me by Serif sales when I registered Pageplus 6.0 which was a "freebie" with the Feb 2004 edition of Computer Shopper. Probably worth giving them a ring. I use it to produce an A5(folded A4) magazine each month and it does everthing I need both text and graphics, page numbering / layout etc.

Did you get Microsoft Publisher with your version of Word? If it is Office 2000
