You are confusing your memory (RAM) use with storage (hard-drive) you really need to add another 2GB of RAM in your PC. Did you buy it with only 2GB installed or have you upgraded an older PC to windows 7. Either way if you use this. Crucial Scanner this will tell you what RAM you can install. Now you do not have to buy from Crucial but do take a note of what RAM you have then buy 2GB elsewhere as Crucial is not the cheapest.

Morecambe, the warnings you're getting can be caused if you've disabled virtual memory. Even if you don't think you have, check by going to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Performance "Settings" button -> "Advanced" tab -> Virtual Memory "Change" button. Make sure that the "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" option at the top is ticked.

Guys, I'm not convinced, at this stage anyhow, that throwing more RAM at the problem is the answer. On my Windows 7 PC I currently have ten tabs (websites) open in my browser, plus an e-mail client and media player open and the total RAM consumed is 1.67GB. I've also worked with Windows 7 PCs that have just 1GB of RAM installed and they run fine for light tasks such as web browsing and e-mailing.

Morecambe, if you'd like to determine why you've started getting this problem then have a look at my suggestion in reply #2 and post back. If that doesn't help then there are a couple of other quick checks that can be done to see what's going on.

I note "downloaded u torrent". I hope that there isn't a virus causing this problem.
