Lost Wireless on router

  jyirrell 08:00 03 Mar 2010

We had a brief power cut yesterday. Since then my router will not show that it has wireless connection.

I have powered everything down and then up again. I have my cable internet connection and all the lights are on, on the router (Belkin) except for the wireless one. I have powered up and down but without success.

Can anybody help?

Go into the router's settings (by connecting to it by ethernet cable and entering its IP address of into your web browser) and check that its "wireless" is still enabled. In its wireless settings, the option may be something like B, G, B&G, None. If it has reverted to None (or the equivalent) set it back to the appropriate setting for your network - probably "G".

If it is an 802.11n router, and you have compatible "n" adapters, the setting may be "G&N" or "N".

Thanks for your response, I went to do exactly what you suggested to find it has come back on it's own - after 24hrs.

Thanks anyway.
