Please help
I have somehow lost the driver and use of my videal mouse.
It is correctly plugged in, but I think the driver was corrupted or deleted by a virus from a download earlier today.
The device manager info shows there is no mouse present.
I have limitted negotiation around the computer with my keyboard.
Where can I get a driver download for this mouse or just a bog standard universal driver for this mouse, and how will I get it to automatically place and activate the driver so I can fix the problem before I throw the computer oput of the window.
All info on mouse is
model Lynx - 96p
fcc id f2q4nemsp

I am losing it along with my hair.

have you tried visiting their site and downloading the driver from there.

What operating system are you using

It was the first thing I tried, but have not found them, do you have the web address? just kept coming across diffcult to negotiate forums.

I am running Windows XP Professional, for some reason it is not detecting any mouse device, and I cannopt find anything refering to the mouse in device manager, add new hardware.Etc Its as if the computer doesn't realise it needs a mouse.

I am completely at a loss.

I suspect I can will have to fully give the system a new driver to start with, then with more use I will be able to update it.

Have you tried a System Restore?

How to run System Restore without a mouse click here

No i haven't

Would I have had to back up before this.

PLease explain, I have never done a restore.

You won't need to back up your data - it just restores system files.

I cant seem to access the click here button.
I can high light it, but not enter it.

Can you explain briefly

Does it roll back to a previous save, as I have not done this.

Also i have restarted a couple of times due to problems with programmes, so will that have effected it?

If the driver has been deleted how will the restore find the mouse driver.

Windows key followed by R key to open a Run box.

in the box type

and press the Enter key.

Press Enter again. You should now be looking at a calendar.

Press Shift+Tab 3 times

Pressing the arrow keys should now allow you to move in the calendar to select a day when all was well.

Press Alt+N twice.

Your other questions:

SR saves automatically as long as you haven't turned it off.

Nor if you choose a suitable date.

It should find it from the restore file that it created when all was well.

On reflection, an easier way would be:

Restart the PC and keep tapping the F8 key just before the Windows screen loads. A startup menu should appear.

Use the Up/Down arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration from this list and press Enter.
