Lost Favourites - Menu toolbar

  Furkin 11:07 26 Jul 2016

Hi all,

1/ I seem to have lost my Favourites (menu toolbar) in Chrome. I’ve been running Windows 10 for a while.

I have searched my kit, and found the favourites folder, but don’t know the easiest way to get it back on my Chrome page without the folder/bar being there

2/ Whilst messing about with this, I now seem to have lost search engine. I have double checked that Chrome is my Default, and altered the Internet Options to Google.Co.Uk – to no avail. It still comes up as Yahoo.

Any ideas folks ?

many thanks

click the "hamburger" three horizontal line to right.

Book marks - tick show bookmark bar

Cheers, I had already done that. It brings up the bar, but it only includes 'Apps' & 'Bookmarks' (empty).

I have managed to do the faves, by copying from faves folder, into a new folder on the bar.

I have no idea if this is the correct way to do this, but time will tell. When I manage to get rid of Yahoo, it just might revert to original.

I just can't seem to get Yahoo changed into Google again.

"hamburger" = settings - search - manage search engines

Thanks again,

When I go to settings, I see Google at the search place.
When I click 'manage search engines', up comes a list.

It states Google.COM as default.

At the bottom, I have managed to 'add other search engines' with google.CO.UK (which is what I always used), but it won't let me put that as default.

If I write in the yahoo search, it does come up with my usual google open page.

I reboot after each setting, but to no avail.

In manage search engines delete all others except google

Thanks - Done that - still the same.

As far as I can see, there is no mention of Yahoo on my kit.

I mentioned earlier that I managed to get a list of my Favourites,,,,, but it isn't my proper folder, as used until this anomaly.

Looks like something has thrown a spaniard in my works !
