lost 8Gb's

I have Windows XP Home after loding WnSpeedUp 2.52 when I rebooted my computer it would not load my setting's as there was 0 byets on the memory and 0 byets on my hard drive and system restore would not work,I phoned Mesh computer as bought it there,And they gave me a 0907 number to phone so after three calls and a total of 30 min at a cost of £1 per hour I was no farther forward, so I formated the disk and reinstalled Windows and spent two days downloading files, I have looked for hidden files wath no sucsess I had 120GB hard drive now it is 112 so where is the 8Gb ??????

You never had 120GB in the first place, this is the way a MB is seen by Windows.

The manufacturer of HDD see the sizes another way from Windows.

The size is correct.

If you search these forums you should find countless threads.

To confirm what powerless has said, in My Computer right click on the drive and choose Properties.

You will see the full size of the drive alongside 'Capacity' in bytes. My 60GB hard drive reports:

60,019,835,392 Bytes 55GB
