When I boot xp the startup up process reaches teh windows logo then a blue screen error flashes up momentarily. after this the system reboots. This cycle continues. Is this the virus i keep hearing about and if so what if anything can I do?
Not necessarily a virus.
Right-click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab. Under "Startup & Recovery" click Settings. Under "System Failure" untick the box in front of "Automatically restart".
The next time you should see a blue screen with an error message. PLease post the EXACT error message here.
I never actually get to the desktop so cant access my computer, the pc just keeps rebooting indefinitely. Have tried all permutations of safe mode but the same happens
