LOgitech Keyboard peaker/Volume Buttons not worki

  haricot 12:17 16 Feb 2010

Can anyone throw any light on why my Keyboard Buttons with the Speaker Icons on are not controlling the sound . I'm tapping them but it does not alter the sound at all ?

You have probably neglected to run your Keyboard software.

Have a look in Control Panel>Keyboard to see if you can access the various Settings. If not you will need to download this Driver click here

BTW, don't worry about it only saying Microsoft Keyboard etc, it does work fine with the Logitech Keyboards too - my own Keyboard is Logitech!

Thanks for coming back Technotiger/

Trouble is I don't really know what I am looking for. I'm a a bit of dumbo ton th is sort of stuff.

MY Driver says Kbdclass.sys or Kbdhid.sys. Which one should I click on to use ?

I also have th latest updated driver, so it telle me.

What now? would you suggest? The Green Volume Display moves up and down but the sound does not change?

This one - Kbdhid simply means Keyboard Human Input Device!

Once that driver is installed, you should then see the various options in Control Panel>Keyboard and this is what you should be looking at ...

THanks again but I have'nt got the same as you. I don't have a Key Settings List but instead a Select Task List which only has about 7 choices on it .

I dont think this is going to work despite your hard work. My set-up seems to be different.

Dont worry about it and thanks for trying to put me right. Tis my fault that it cant be solved.

Have you installed the Setpoint software?

  Technotiger 14:44 16 Feb 2010

I don't like giving up that easily - what OS are you using, I was assuming XP!

  haricot 18:29 16 Feb 2010

Well thanks chaps.

Spartacus..no I hav'nt yet . will that help then?

Technotiger..'tis good of you to return. I've got Vista as it happens . Will that make a difference?

I'm a tad green on these sort of things I'm afraid.

Thanks again.

Hmm, I am not so familiar with Vista, I use XP.

In any case, Yes, you should install the Setpoint Software, that alone should sort your problem!
