Local area connection assignes automaticaly at XP start up and is in limited connectivity mode (alert sign). When i connect to dsl aswell, there is no problem, just two different connection icons are active. As stated, it doesnt affect my connection, but is annoying and frustrating, coz i dont know the cause. I have 100/10 Ethernet on Asrock Dual Sata2 MB. Any idea, what to do?

If Internet and LAN are working OK, open Network Connections (In Control Panel) and Right click each connection, select properties, take the two ticks from the boxes at bottom of resulting pop up window, for each connection. This will hide the icons from the clock area.

Mr. Sheik, thnx 4 suggestion.
I know the boxes, but i wont to solve the problem, not hide it.
Why LAC get limited?

Check DNS Client in services (Control panel- Administrative tools) make sure it's set to auto.
