WHich version shall I buy ie the Win 98 upgrade or the full version? Can I install it over the Win 98 and will it afferct the files??? Any body got any top tips for me?

Theres not really a definitive answer to the upgrade or fresh install...some say...

By performing a clean install, instead of an upgrade install, you will insure that various Windows version-specific printer drivers, browser plug-ins, COM modules, configuration files, and registry entries - of which the Windows XP upgrade installer has no knowledge - are appropriately modified.

Others say an upgrade is as good.

Don't install WXP over W98 you will have a lot of problems later as one is Fat32 and running XP in Fat32 is not a good idea.
As has been said do a clean install.
