Linux Drivers

This is for Linux lovers. Does anyone know of a HP Scanjet 4470c driver for Mandrake 9.2? Mandrake say that "perhaps" one exists. HP say that they do not have one! Your comments would be wellcome.

I emailed HP for advice for a PrecisionScan driver for linux, waited several weeks before getting info,"They have no plans to create a linux driver..."

I presume your scanner is USB,if SANE(I think)or SAMBA doesn't work, then its not going to function in Linux unless you modify/build your own kernel.

I have had a look at the SuSE website but no luck there either am afriad.

Is there not a generic HP scanner driver that you can use?
