Linking DLL files

An elderly friend ( not very PC literate ) has started to get a pop up error message when booting up. Runs Windows 98. He installed an old version on Norton Anti Virus ( 2000 ) and downloaded up to date dat files. He now gets, on boot up, an error message, Program not loaded, POPEXAM.DLL is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6467. He clicks on OK and carries on. Everything still seems to work. Any ideas as to what this is, how to rectify it , etc. I note on my Win XP system, MFC42.dll seems to be a common library file, installed by numerous programs.

It seems that re-installing Norton cures the problem, Nuts. click here
