Hi, Apart from disconecting the modem is it possible to stop access via a broadband connection on one computer in a network? ie, via a password would be good. win XP Pro. Ta, Dennis.

Change the connection type to use a proxy server that doesnt exist - not a very secure method, but it will stop little kids and total newbies

Hi, We have 5 computers connected via wireless router. It is OK during the day but at night 1 of them is still running so that it be used for non internet work. However we would like to stop unauthorised people from getting on the internet. On a dial up it was easy to password protect the dial up. We could just unplug it but to do this every night would be a pain. Ta, Dennis.

Just don't save your "user name" and "password" that is used to access the interent e.g. don't save your username "[email protected]" and don't save your password... This will stop everyone from logging onto the "net", unless of cause they know the username and password...

There should be something in the router software such as a schedule where you can time Internet access or block services at times to suite you.
