Anybody knows if there are any benefits of having DVI on a LCD monitor

Yes if you have DV out on your graphics card.

The signal leaving your card is digital and is converted to analog before being sent to the monitor. If you have a DVI output from the card and a DVI input on your monitor there is no conversion of the signal and it will give a slightly cleaner display.
