Latop keeps crashing

I have an Asus A6U series laptop which ive had for about a year and ahlf.
In the last week it has started crashing randomly, it just turns itself off. when i switch it back on, it will either do it normally staright away (no error messages) or sometimes it will try and do it itself but usually takes a few goes (it sounds like its going to start up but doesnt)
I have realised that it is either fan or CPU usage related, as just before it crashes the fan goes really fast for about a second.
my question is, is there a quick fix for this problem or does it need to be sent away? it has a 2 year warranty so i should be covered.
any input much appreciated!

This sort of thing can be caused by 3 things.

1. Overheat (clean out all the fan grills on the laptop)

2. Virus and or Spyware (San with uptodate Anti spy / Antivirus software)

3. Failing PSU (on the motherboard of the laptop {costly repair})

It sounds like a Hard Drive Problem, With what you say about startup. When you get into windows double click My Computer Right click C drive Properties\Tools check the disc for errors put a tick in the box to Auto Fix
