latest avg and live messenger,how to scan recieved

does anyone know how to get avg to scan a recieved file on windows live messenger v 8.1

In messenger, tools/options/file transfer/tick the box 'scan for virus's using' and browse to your virus checker and click ok.

u need a command line for avg to scan im told ,just wondered if anyone has avg working with windows live messanger

Following Jimmy 14s way I can get that far,But have not worked out how to transfer AVG into the box.I am sure it should be easy enough for someone with a bit of a brain so that rules me out.

After browsing to the avg root folder, click on the avg icon and click ok.

so doing that does it auto scan when you recieve a file on msn ?

In the avg root folder on 'c' drive you have an avg icon, after browsing to it from within messenger click ok, and avg will scan incoming files sent through messenger.

If there is more than 1 icon, try each in turn, you will hit the right 1 eventually.

I use nod 32 and doing it the same way, it just works.
