laser mouse ?

what does a laser mouse do that a normal mouse cannot or an optical mouse cannot. I thought it might be a point at the screen laser curser but this seems to be wrong, I have looked on the web but none seem to explain the difference. any one explain in simple terms please.

A simplified explanation is that they read the surface more often and are therefore more accurate for precise movement. Usefull in graphics applications and games.

As far as I know, it provides a quicker and more accurate response.

Unless you play fps type games, or need pinpoint precision for cad, then I doubt you would notice the difference.

Brought a Logitech Lazer mouse because i got tired of my mouses or mices roller ball giving me grief on the mat !!
These are way more accurate with there movement as the laser reads the surface without having contact..
Thats my two cents :))
