l show you mine.
How do I get my new (used) laptop to to become like an extra drive for my desktop, and vice a versa. What cables should I buy and software if necessary? Have never used more than a standalone machine and dont want to have to revert to using floppies or burning CD's to move stuff between them. Also is it possible to remote connect over landline,or mobile to the fixed machine? That should probably be a seperate post.

You want a USB Cross Over Cable (or Bridge Cable) About £30 with Drivers for Win98SE to transfer from one machine to the other.

Like this click here

You can't use a normal USB cable to so this either..

A network you might find of use,

If it is only two PC's then you could connect them up using USB direct in ti both systems, if 98SE or later it shoudl allow direct network connection wizard to be run.

Thanks Jester2K II  and Gaz 25.
Can't it be done with anything cheaper. Just hope this laptop has a USB . It's a Toshiba Tecra 8000 and it's in the back of a courier van on its way here. Should be here tomorrow.
