A red cross or a yellow triangle indicates a driver problem. Go to Device Manager - find your webcam under "Imaging Devices" - right click and select "update driver software"

Mark - has it ever worked ? Try the following - go into Device Manager again and find your webcam under "Imaging Devices" and this time UNINSTALL the driver software. Reboot your laptop - then REINSTALL via Device Manager selecting update driver software (you already have it downloaded on your laptop so windows should pick it up)

I think that you upgraded from Vista click here
and you have other driver problems click here and it is overheating click here
Are you sure you have all of the right drivers for Windows 7 64 bit?
Did the webcam work under Vista?
