Laptop is suddenly very laggy

Hello! My laptop has been acting up for the past one and a half days. It started with being extremely laggy and now my desktop won't load OR freezes as soon as I click on something and I generally can't do anything. I use Norton Anti Virus which has worked fine for detecting malware, but two days ago I downloaded 'Inkscape' and that program might have been infected. At least that's the only thing I can think of that could have caused that. Do you have any advice for me?

Depends where you d'loaded the free Inkscape from. You might have installed several extra programs and toolbars etc 'freebies' if you didn't do a custom install. These PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) would not be detected by Norton as you will have given permission (you didn't UNtick the boxes) during the install of Inkscape

Have a look in Programs and see what got installed on the same date/time as Inkscape

Or a System restore to before you installed Inkscape might help.
