laptop samsung x05 - display very dark on battery

Hi guys

The colour of the screen is perfect when running from the mains (very clear). But when on battery the screen goes very dark (nearly too dark to see anything). I have had a look in colour settings but can't see anything obvious to change.

Any ideas??

Thanks as always

try the function button ( Fn ) and F8, together. Is that lightening the screen?

Many thanks ed-0

No, just tried it and with the power cord out fn and brightness doesn't make any difference. Do you know of any settings anywhere that would affect going from power to battery?

Most new laptops run the screen on a lower power setting when on battery in order to boost battery life, it seems yours may be a bit extreme though.

Go into control panel, power options...

here you can check the power saving options and change them to suit.

Next, check the display properties from control panel, you may need to go into the advanced options to change any settings...
