i removed my USB network adapter without using the 'safely remove' method, and it led to a blue screen crash. After this every so often it crash's in the same manner whilst im in the middle of doing something. have i done permenant damage to my laptop or can i repair it?
You can, but try short steps at a time. Try going back to a previous installation that loaded - alternatively, try SFC /scannow to see if the problem resolves itself. Finally you can try rebooting with the install CD in place and allowing the system to repair itself. If that fails, I'm afraid you have no alternative but to reinstall Windows -first over the top and then after a reformat.
