I have got 2mb broadband, Will i be able to connect laptop strait to modem?

I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to connect this laptop to your modem. Most broadband modems connect via a USB port, but even easier is to connect to a modem-router via an ethernet cable or via the wireless 802.11 b/g.

I agree. You shouldnt have any problems connecting your laptop to the modem. But you really should buy extra RAM. Buy 1GB of DDR2 RAM because its going to run so slow with only 512 MB with Vista. And anyway this is the time to buy memory, its cheap right now.

Well worth the extra money for the improved performance. You might be able to request the additional ram from your laptop supplier, but it might be considerably more expensive.
