Laptop Hard Drive Failure...

My laptop's hard drive has broke and I am now unable to use it, I have lots of spare PC hard drives, Is there anything i can use to connect a PC hard drive to it, OR can I use an external hard drive in place of the internal one?

Windows is designed not to run on an external drive.
You will have to replace the internal drive.

So thats my only Option, Would it not make sence if they made a connection lead/ribbon that plugs into the Laptop hard drive slot then into a PC hard drive

My Dell laptop hard drive died a horrible clicking and grinding death last month. Dell's price was £146 for a replacement.

After much Googling for an alternative I found this shop on Ebay and bought an identical one, brand new, for less than £40 including postage and insurance

SATA or IDE drive?

An adaptor cable has all the wiring you need however you also need a 12v power supply to run the 3.5 inch drive.

No idea, on the bottom of the Hard drive it says:

SPS-DRV, HD 80gb (4200 RPM)

Is there any way of running a PC through a laptop screen?

The Laptop is as dead as the Hard Drive till you buy a new internal Drive for it. Laptops will not work Without a Operating System

its quite cheap to replace a laptop hard drive, i did it on my dell xps with a bigger one,

just make sure you get the correct IDE/SATA type

You could boot from a linux live CD that has USB support ad connect an external hard drive via the usb ports.
