Laptop connection to a Full Separate Keyboard

I have a four year old laptop and wish to connect to it a keyboard which is supplied with (I'm told)a PS2 connector. It has been suggested that the connection could be through a 'serial port connector to a PS2 connector' Anyone know if this is correct and if so where I can obtain such a piece of kit?

Help and advice appreciated.

Your laptop more than likely has a PS2 port on it - small (likea 5p / 1c coin) and round female port with about 9 holes.

If not, you can get a serial to PS2 adaptor as you were told.

I used a PS2 splitter cable, alows the mouse and keyboard to be connected using the same port click here .
