laptop cleanup??

i am trying to clean up my daughters laptop which is extremely slow. It is struggling to install Windows updates, with the system giving every indication of being in a loop. I have managed to get Task Manager to run, no easy feat, and once found pctsSvc taking 95% CPU usage, and another time csrss.exe taking 100%. Although both claim to be SYSTEM functions, how do I find out what they are with a view to getting rid of them??

Maybe try this. This is a pay for program but it will remove all problems it finds while you are using the 30 day trial.I have used it on my grand daughters computer to-day and it cleared a few things that were stopping her update her security programs.
I have also used it on my own computer before. And if you don't want to pay for it just delete it after the 30 days.

Looks like it is part of Spyware Doctor mabe it is running a scan.I take it you have it downloaded.
Maybe change the scan settings to a time when you want it to run.

pctssvc.exe - At your option

PCTSSVC.EXE is related to PC Tools Spyware Doctor core service.
Manufacturer: PC Tools
