Laptop battery/mains query

I have very belatedly got a laptop which I mainly use on AC mains , this means the battery is constantly being charged even if the charge rate is reduced to a trickle when it is 100% .Would it be better to remove the battery to prolong it's life ?
( and reduce heat )

If your laptop is usually run on the mains, I believe that best practice for prolonging your battery's life as as follows:

Fully charge the battery and remove from the laptop.

If it's unused, then about once a month put it into the omputer and run on battery power until it's completely flat. Then charge it right up and remove from the computer.

On occasions when you do have to use the battery, always try to run it right down, then charge it right up.

Yes I removed mine at about 70% charge then put in a Plastic Bag and put on one of lower shelves in the Refrigerator, NOT FREEZER
