Keyboard problems

A friend finds that she has problems with her keyboard (I don't know if it's wireless or not): capitals, spaces, punctuation, individual letters can be missed out and have to be re-keyed. Caps sometimes require more than one attempt to key in, with much extra key pressure required.
Apologies for the lack of hard info re make of equipment - she's gone away and I'd be v grateful for any suggestions re what might be wrong and how to put things right! By the way, it's a new PC.

Are we talking Laptop or Desktop?

If Desktop try another keyboard. If Laptop try an external keyboard.

If the problem is still there we need to think again.

Whatever, keyboards are notorious for the garbage that falls in between the keys. Try turnin the key-board upside down and shaking it. You can afford to be quite strong with a desktop, but be far more gentle with a laptop.

If it's a new PC, presumably it's still under warranty. Get the supplier to sort it out.
