Hi, I have a problem on a laptop.
i uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard for various reasons but now everytime i reboot i get an error message `keyboard failed to initialise`. the keyboard actually is working ok but the start up hangs for about 2 minutes.

its a sony laptop running win 2000.

ps. i added a response to an old similar thread but just noticed that this thread is closed so i have reposted this in this
new thread

Have you tried the sony site? Have a look through their FAQ's it might be a known problem. There might also be some software from sony if your keyboard has any special functions. Have you tried removing it and reinstalling again?

This is normally a POST message from the power on tests, not a software issue. So have a look at the BIOS settings first, to see what the keyboard entry is set to.

but how do i do that?

Look in the Sony manual to see how to get into the BIOS during the power on tests.

On standard PCs the normal way is to hit the Del key - on a Sony it may be that or it may be different. Perhaps a Sony user may know?

Try F2 or the F3 key to enter the bios.

Hi. I looked in the BIOS under `POWER` settings.
I can't see any reference to anything that might be useful.
All I can see is the following

OS Control:YES
Resume on time:OFF (doesnt look at all relevant)
Resume time:00:00:00

Could someone point me in a direction please.
This only started after the driver was deleted and reinstalled.
Thank you
