just downloaded and ran spybot s&d

and it has found about 7 reg files that are part of security fixes (critical updates)

saying that IE has a hole and it can be exploited with a code

now isn't that the hole point of critical updates, and why is spybot wantint to remove them?

i havn't removed them yet

Check if they're duplicated ......

I removed the 'Systems Internals' check from Spybot as I don't think it's very safe, it did remove a needed entry in Office once & it hasn't had the chance since. If you want your registry checking there are much better & safer products to do that. I have no problems with the rest of the Spybot checks whatsoever, & I wouldn't be without it. My brother had similar issues with the same part of the program & we found we had both removed it.

Heartily concur with The Spires - I wouldn't blindly trust Spybot to sort out anything other than it's primary purpose.
