jumper settings for 2nd hdd

would like to install my old harddrive alongside my new one so i can dual boot xp and win98se.
am unsure what the jumper configuration needs to be on slave hdd. any advice would be very welcome.

thats the problem guys i dont know what the settings are for slave as my old hdd is out off the machine and still set as master.

wot make is the hdd?-usually have jumper settings printed on the case ,failing that ,usually a quick peek at the manafacturors website can usually enlighten you -regards -hol pol -and gday Djohn...

no MichelleC theres no info just the physical beast.
there is a row of 3 pins a space and another pin,
then a second row with 5 pins.
the 1st pin on each row is joined by a jumper, the 2nd and 3rd pin on top row is joined by a jumper. hope this makes sense.

What is the name of the HD you have, the exact one, then we can lookup what the settings are?

I would goto the makers of the HD on the internet and look it up, should show a diagram of settings.
