.json files with Google Takeout

  Clementine 07:02 05 Mar 2019

I have just downloaded all my Google data to store as a backup. There are hundreds of jpg photos but also each one has another file called [filename].jpg.json. I know that json is a java script file giving meta data about the photo. However, when backing up my data to an external drive, do I need to keep the .json files?
