JPEG will not open 12:50 14 Sep 2005

I have some .jpgs on my hard drive. If I try to open them in Photoshop or any other viewer, I get this error:

Could not open "File" because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete).

Other JPEG files on the same hard drive open perfectly.

Any ideas???

PC Review - Re: JPEG marker segment
"The marker segment error would be due to faulty transfer between the camera
memory card and the hard drive. Updates of Windows XP will not corrupt your
files. I would look at this file and files that you transferred at the same
time from your camera to compare with other files transferred at another
If you find that other files are fine but this group of files are not, I
suspect faulty transfer.
It would help if you post your camera model and how you transferred the
files (directly from camera or from a card reader, etc) and somebody may
have had the same problem and answer how to avoid it.
However, this does not solve your problem. How can you recover this file? I
would go here and see what they can do:
