Jerky Monitor problems

  a beginner 18:09 17 Dec 2005

Hi All, I hope that you can help? I have recently reinstalled Windows XP. The monitor was working perfectly prior to re-installation, not any more. When I scroll through pages the scrolling action is no longer smooth. If I move dialogue boxes around they leave a trail behind them. The resolution is set as it should be and the refresh rate is set to 'Use hardware default setting' (the only option available). However, if I turn hardware acceleration off then the monitor seems to be fine again. Any ideas?

You probably need to install motherboard and graphics drivers. The re-install will have set them all back to baisc vbersions - which will give you exactly the effects you are getting.
